Domestic photographs are a direct channel to personal memories. At the same time, these archives of memory hide dominant moulds, stereotypes, poses and repetitions that reflect the universal of each era. Although treasured as unique pieces of individual memory, the albums contain in their pages the private version of the public construction of gender. Photographs not only tell stories, they are traces of a referent, of a time. They are domesticated and domesticating objects, but also unique pieces of the larger puzzle of a neighbourhood's memory.
Women have traditionally been in charge of making albums, becoming agents of memory. As plastic objects, albums and the photographs pasted on their pages make memories malleable. As such, the stories they contain can also be transformed and transforming. The album, and photographs in particular, give plasticity to memory and allow us to play with it, manipulate it, touch it, break it, quartify it and rearrange it.

Las fotografías domésticas son un canal directo al recuerdo personal. Al mismo tiempo, estos archivos de la memoria esconden moldes dominantes, estereotipos, poses y repeticiones que reflejan el universal de cada época. Aunque se atesoren como piezas únicas de la memoria individual, los álbumes contienen en sus páginas la versión privada de la construcción pública del género. Las fotografías no sólo cuentan historias, son huellas de un referente, de un tiempo. Son objetos domesticados y domesticadores, pero también piezas únicas del puzle más amplio de la memoria de un barrio.
Las mujeres se han encargado tradicionalmente de elaborar álbumes, convirtiéndose en agentes de la memoria. Como objetos plásticos, los álbumes y las fotografías pegadas en sus páginas, hacen del recuerdo algo maleable. Por ello las historias que contienen también pueden ser transformadas y transformadoras. El álbum, y las fotografías en concreto, otorgan plasticidad a la memoria y, permiten jugar con ella, manipularla, tocarla, romperla o cuartificarla y re-ordenarla.
